When I found out that my sweet Ava is going to have to keep doing breathing treatments indefinitely to help her asthma subside, I did what any mother would do…bake her favorite dessert and let her eat into a sugary bliss!
The girls love to help me bake these…not only can they measure everything and sprinkle it about, but they love to sneak bites along the way!
MAGIC BARS
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups graham-cracker crumbs (or if Nilla Wafers crumbed in the food processor)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (I prefer milk)
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 3/4 cup shredded coconut
- 1 14-oz can sweetened condensed milk
Preheat oven to 350
Put butter into a 9×13-inch pan and place in oven while preheating to melt butter
Remove pan from oven and sprinkle graham-cracker crumbs over melted butter.
Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crumbs.
Sprinkle chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and coconut.
Press the top down lightly with a rubber spatula
Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown
Let cool for an hour or refrigerate for best results
Enjoy!
