As many people know I am a HUGE scarf lover. Luckily I was before my surgery since it is almost a must now to keep the bright south Florida sun from darkening my scar.
I came across this amazing tutorial from Scarves Dot Net on how to add a scarf to ballet flats…my two loves in one and it’s not hard to make!
1. For this project, you need a pair of flats, some thread, a needle, scissors, and a scarf of course (once that you can bear cutting).
2. Next you need to cut up your scarf into four strips. You need to cut the strips wide enough so that you can fold them in half, stitch them up, and then flip them inside out. (In the end you will have a little scarf tube to sew to your flats.)
4. After stitching the little scarf tubes, start stitching the fabric to your flats. This is where a thimble comes in handy!
5. After you have both of the sides of your bow stitched to your shoe, all you have to do is tie it up. If your scarf tube is too long, just cut it to size and stitch the edges under so they do not fray.
Simple enough right! And seriously how cute are these flats!
Thank you to the girls over at Scarves Dot Net for this super easy and adorable tutorial!
